Learn more about the ICT e-learning system and the breakthrough this innovative technology is having for students and tutors. This cost-effective e-learning solution is improving access to, and the quality of, health worker education in rural Nigeria.

The ICT e-learning system was piloted in a health training institution in the rural north. Lack of resources and access to information for both students and teachers are a challenge in the health training colleges, whilst the wealth of material available online to support the teaching of health subjects is enormous. The ICT e-learning system provides an affordable solution to help resolve issues around access to the internet which opens up the potential for developing learning hubs and various other e-learning mechanisms with the colleges. These can significantly improve the range and quality of material available to teachers and learners. Access to these materials can increase students’ abilities as independent learners and reduce their dependence on teachers.

This short film outlines the impact of the pilot on the students and tutors in the College of Nursing and Midwifery in Birnin Kudu, Jigawa State, Nigeria
